Hades
Disney Hercules - Gender-bend

VILLAINS! With a big love for the old Disney, but a bigger love for the old villains.
Hercules belongs to one of my favorites as a kid, and Hades... and whow looking at it as an adult his personalty was spot on. Although I didn't see see myself wearing a big peace of fabric wrapped around me that's being hold in place at a view points, I found Sakimichan's design of a female Hades and YESSSS!

The outfit is made out of linen and the top is fully lined with linen as well, I had to hand dye the blue linen myself to get the correct color tone. the skulls are sculpted and reproduced hollow. For the eye I painted a styrofoam ball and covered it with a thin layer of resin.

That moment when the bobbin empties while sewing l That moment when the bobbin empties while sewing leather corset.

Having an empty bobbin in the middle of a project can be so frustrating, especially if you notice it at the end of your stitch.
This time I noticed this after only 10 cm, I usually hear when it's empty cuzz the sound gets a little off.

The pain of sewing leather is that it won't forget. Every stitch you make leaves a permanent hole, and I don't like recutting leather cuzz of a bobbin thread error.....
In the end I aligned the needle and sewed in the stitch hole left before, the upper wire got pulled back and knotted off on the inside of the corset. I'm so happy this worked out without leaving a mark, otherwise I had to redo the whole corset.

Finished my witchy throw-over dress, an upgrade fo Finished my witchy throw-over dress, an upgrade for my witch outfit.

Make the throw-over dress with me in less than a minute, explore the world behind the actual sewing.
The actual sewing is just a small part of creating a garment, most of the time you're measuring, calculating, cutting, pinning, basting and ironing before the actual sewing can start. To create this video I removed most of the ironing/pressing steps to avoid a long steaming video, and only one seam treatment is shown.

Sewing is a slow and repeating process, if you skip a step it usually bites you in the ass later on.

I hope you like this little video and that it may spark you to start sewing as well.
Happy crafting. ~ Linny

Its aliveeee!!! my industrial triple transport sew Its aliveeee!!! my industrial triple transport sewing machine finally lives again!

This monster sews through 9mm leather as if its butter, and it only stitches straight whilst the needle moves along with the inner pressure feet. It's fitted to a clutch engine that gives the machine its power.
A great sewing machine for leatherwork or to sew shipping sails.

I got this sewing machine around 2014 as a collective gift, they found a good deal for a strong sewing machine without having any knowledge about the topic. It didn't run properly and after receiving it I had to figure everything out myself, a service company charged more to fix it than what was paid for to begin with. As a young dressmaker it was useless for me at the time, I didn't even work that much with leather and my regular household sewing machine could sew regular leather if I needed to.

In the past I've managed to tune it a little so I could use it by hand without the motor attached, it worked but all the timings were out of whack. Threads broke, stitches dropped and it gave a lot of frustration.

Now after all those years mainly collecting dust and being used as a storage table Kem took some time to check the whole sewing machine. In the end he had to reset the feed dog timing and position, bobbin distance and timing, needle timing, walking feet timing and the stitch length.
A pretty big list of maintenance that took up a lot of time, but what was it worth it!

Now the sewing machine stitches again as you would expect from an industrial model, beautiful good stitches without any problems. The stitch length is corresponding with the setting wheel and it feels as if it stitches with more ease than it did before.

I'm looking forward to sewing some leather corsets on this beauty now it actually functions.

The result after making 131 tassels, which turned a fast 2 day project into a week buy I'm so happy with the result.

I made a new orange vest dress, with raw edges on the skirt and a cute green cotton lining.
The woven through over with all the tassels is a new addition as well. Aside from the current look this large blanket can be worn in multiple ways, there are multiple buttons, buttonholes and internal ribbons to give a wide rage of wearable variations.

Usually I make an outfit as I intend and only wear it ones it's finished, the witch is one of the exceptions.

Little mini tutorial, an easy way to make adorable Little mini tutorial, an easy way to make adorable tassels using a pet brush.

This method works great with wool like threads, in my case I used the raw fabric edge which is a wool/poly blend.
I knotted sections of 5cm threads off and used a pet brush with metal teeth to brush everything out. After this the tassels could be cut to the desired length or leave as they are.
Making 1 tassel takes about 1-2 minutes, I ended up making 131 tassels for a full border.

Happy crafting ~Linny

Life of a costume maker, when you think to add a c Life of a costume maker, when you think to add a cute detail but forget that it has to be done to 5m of fabric.

To give a change of pace I decided to pause the current sewing pattern I'm working on and make something for myself, using the fabric stock I have.
What started as a quick 2 day project turned into something bigger, after I decided I like to add fluffy tassels to the edge. I ended up making tassels for 2 days, but the textures are so worth it.

Does this sound familiar to you? Or do you like to avoid these tasks and buy pre made tassel tape?

Keep an eye on my stories for up to date crafting progress & don't forget to follow to see the end result.
