Hello my name is Linny,
Early on in this crazy life of mine creative energy was flowing through my veins. At the age of 7 I used my mom’s sewing machine for the first time. It was a pretty old sewing machine, but it had all the stitches that I needed at the time. I started out making simple square like gym bags and other simple items. Fun fact, I actually spend more time making jewelry than sewing. I could spend an entire day with only a thread and a hand full of beads.
The Start of my passion.
At age 19 I discovered the wonderful world of fantasy and all the creative costumes that came with it. Little did I know that the fantasy world was about to change my life for good!
Making costumes started out as a hobby, but quickly turned out to be my real passion. Unfortunately, I had to learn everything the hard way. In the beginning I bought patterns and learned how to sew them together by reading that guide that was included. Even though I had a guide, I still made a lot of mistakes.
My first big creation was the “Steampunk Nurse” outfit. It was the first time that I used my own custom made patterns. Being a bit of a perfectionist it took a lot of time and effort before I was satisfied with my own work.
Because I’m a perfectionist I always try to push my limits. I love to try out new and different materials, hoping that they will improve my work. Which unfortunately does not always turn out to be the best. I tested a lot of materials in the past, as a result I have quite some knowledge about materials now. Sometimes I would find the perfect material for my costume and other times I would spend way too much time and effort figuring out I made a big mistake.
Life beside cosplay
Of course a “regular” girl has to pay her bills and costumes, I also studied. After graduating I could call myself Chemical lab technician, but I prefer to call myself a Mad Scientist. I enjoy my work, but my passion lies elsewhere as you all can see on this website.
